McMahon, aged 28, the former Olympic runner from Ireland, out-distanced the field on Saturday to easily win the world masters’ marathon in 2hrs 18min 37.75ec.. The Maynard Massachusetts, school teacher was far ahead of S. Dean, a college student who was clocked in 2hr 23min 47.45ec. J. Alfredo, aged 24, of Mexico City was third with a time of 2hr 32min 15sec.

Australian D. Clayton was to have run, but incurred an injury earlier in the week and did not compete.
