Pregnancy warning
Pregnant woman have been warned by New York State’s health commissioner (Mr H. Ingram) that eating mercurycontaminated tuna and swordfish may be hazardous to their unborn babies. He said that evidence indicated that methyl mercury, which could cause some form of brain damage when concentrated in sufficiently large levels, tended to become concentrated in a foetus—Albany, New York, February 2.
