Australian markets continue to firm
Australian sharemarkets continued to firm yesterday, although the pace of the recovery slackened somewhat. Speculatives and oils, however, weakened as the day progressed.
Western Mining continued to attract a lot of trading, and gained in strength. The shares reached 472 c, but closed steady at 450 c; the rights reached 300 c, but closed at 285 c, a rise of 9c. C.R.A. rose a further 40c, to 1230 c. Kathleen Investments put on 10c, but Queensland Mines lost 50c to $25; the shares had earlier gained 100 c. SYDNEY (ales.—Amai.
