House may sit early

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, February 3. The possibility of an early session of Parliament, starting in mid-March or even earlier, is being mentioned about Parliament buildings. A short session may be necessary to give effect to some of the measures the Government is considering in the event of failure by the industrial bodies to agree on action to restrain rising prices. These would centre on wage restraint, as rising wages is a major ingredient in rising costs.

No Minister approached is prepared to admit that an early session is a possibility. But several Parliamentarians have suggested that unpopular Government action without reference to Parliament would be seized on eagerly by the Opposition as an example of rule by Order in Council.
