Beekeeper’s dilemma
(N.Z Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 2. A British beekeeper whose honey turned bright green after his bees had been fed with dyed sugar has been offered £l3O compensation by the Ministry of Agriculture, the "Daily Telegraph” reports.
Major Peter Wheeler, of Clive, near Shrewsbury, who had claimed £l4OO described the Ministry’s offer as “sheer ! impertinence.” He was left with three'quarters of-a ton of unsaleable honey after feeding his bees with sugar to which green dye had been added on the Ministry’s instructions, to prevent misuse of the sugar, which was supplied at concessionary rates.
