Kindred included
Twenty-five swimmers and divers have been named by the Canterbury centre to contest the national championships at Palmerston North on February 25, 26 and 27. This is two more than last year’s team.
A notable inclusion, and one which should add considerably to Canterbury’s strength, is the freestyler, A. Kindred. He is temporarily employed in the Waikato, but has not served the three months residential qualification to make him eligible for that centre’s team.
All the swimmers named have bettered qualifying times for the nationals during the period set by the New Zealand association—-
’from December 9 to February 2. The men’s and women’s captains will be named later. The team is:
Mep: R. Gray, J. Johnson, Kindred, J. Laugeson, B. Lewis, M. Lewis, R. McCabe, J. Symon, J. Tillson, M. Trembath, G. Walker, J de Malmanche (diving).
Women: Misses S. Andersen, A. Baker, J. Hay, P. Horne, S. Hunter, J. Mills, J. Parkhouse, L. Rowe. S. Thomson, J. Tomlinson, C. Whiting, J. Wright, J. Meyer (diving).
