ADDINGTON MARKET Prime sheep values firmer; wethers to $8.l0
Prime sheep were again in large numbers at the Addington market yesterday, but under steady competition from the freezing trade as well as retail buyers, the market was firmer.
Butchers’ ewes, with a little growth of wool, sold readily at $4.50 or a little more, while in the young wether section there wer< odd sales at $8 or a little more.
The prime cattle yarding, at more than 450, was the largest for some weeks, but quality was also the plainest for a considerable time. However, values, did not shovv much change. Prime lambs Entries in the prime lamb section fell from 1565 last week to 895. It included a good selection of butchers’ lambs, and fewer overfat lambs.
