Buccaneer tenth

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The New Zealand cutter Buccaneer, line honours winner in the Sydney ter Hobart yacht race, finished eighth in the first division of the race, according to provisional placings. The 73ft New Zealand yacht, skippered by T. Clark, had a corrected, time of three days, 20hr 23min 19sec, which gave it tenth place over-all. The provisional first division winner was the second yacht across the line, Pacha, of Sydney, which won by only 6min from Ragamuffin, in a time of three days, lOhr 7min 39sec. These two were followed by Salcia 11, Koomooloo, Vittoria, and Taurus.

Road race.—F. Shorter (United States) won the 8000 metres Sao Sllvestre round-the-houses race at Sao Paulo in 24min 27.45ec. T. Wright (Britain) was second, 24mfn 40.2 sec, and P. Miranda (Mexico) third, 24min 45sec.
