Monzon was told on Friday that his world middle-weight boxing title might be revoked if he went ahead with a proposed return bout with N. Benvenuti (Italy). A return bout between Monzon and Benvenuti, planned next March or April, would violate World Boxing Association regulations because there had been a return-bout clause in the contract for the first title fight, said the association’s chairman (Mr W. Brennan). W.B.A. rules prohibited such clauses, he said.
