RUN RABBIT, RUN
A little grey rabbit is having the time of its life in Browns Road, St Albans. As fast as the owner of the property plants beans and they come up the little grey rabbit dines well and the autumn bean crop has gone. What does the homeowner do? He has consulted the City Council, to which he pays rates, been referred to the Department of Agriculture, towards which he pays taxes, and then been referred to the Plains Pest Destruction Board, to which he does not contri-
bute because the city is not part of the board’s area. But that would not have been any help because the Darfield based foreman is on holiday. He is not allowed to shoot the rabbit in a builtup area, he cannot lay poison or set a trap. The perplexed homeowner consulted “The Press” yesterday. The only suggested solutions were interest by the S.P.C.A. or painless trapping by Mr R. H. Stillwell to add to his New Year attractions.
