Fishing rivers
The Hurunui, Waimakariri, Selwyn, Rakaia gorge, Ashburton, Rangitata and Hinds rivers were reported to be clear and fishable by the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. The Rakaia was slightly discoloured at the mouth, the Ashley was ’clear and fishable but still I low, and the Wairau was low
