BOY FEARED DROWNED
fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 1. The police tonight released the name of a boy. missing, presumed drowned, in Paremata Harbour this afternoon. He is Daniel Patrick McGinty, aged 14, of Gloucester Street, Porirua East. He had not been found at 9 p.m. when the police called off their search. Wages pegged The Jugoslav Government has rushed through Parliament emergency legislation limiting income increases during the next four months to 11 per cent on the average wages and salaries in 1970. The new law, which has gone into immediate effect, was approved in the face of bitter criticism by many deputies. It is part of the Government’s shortterm economic stabilisation programme, and it stipulates that from the beginning of next May Jugoslavia’s six republics and two provinces should work out their own incomes policies.—Belgrade, January 1.
