Transfer complete
The United States Navy has completed the transfer of all 650 of its small coastal and river combat craft to the South Vietnamese Navy. From its peak strength of 36,000 men in 1968, the U.S.N. has reduced its forces iri Vietnam to fewer than 17,000 —mostly advisers to the South Vietnamese Navy. —Saigon, January 1.
