Commentator at Westport (N.Z. Press Association) WESTPORT. New Zealand's best known racing and trotting commentator, Mr D. B. Clarkson, will attend the second day of the Westport Trotting Club's meeting at Patterson Park on December 28. Mr Clarkson, who will retire from race broadcasting next March has agreed voluntarily to act in an official capacity on that day. The Westport Trotting Club has now named the second leg of the off-course double, on the second day, the David Clarkson Handicap.
This will be the first time Mr Clarkson, whose name has virtually become a household word throughout New Zealand, has broadcast a day's trotting fronPW estport.
