Record attempt brings death
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SABAUDIA (Italy). G. Cighetti, aged 33, was killed at the week-end as he tried to set a new world speed record for 1500 c.c. inboard motor launches on Lake Sabaudia. Eyewitnesses said that the Italian’s boat hit a wave and reared up, flinging him into the water as it raced across the lake at 125 miles an hour. Doctors said that Cighetti apparently died from a broken neck.
