Bigger golf winnings

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ST ANDREWS. Prize money for the British Open golf championship next year will be $102,000 —an increase of $16,073 on this year. Announcing this yesterday, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club said the first prize for the 1971 event at Royal Birkdale, Lancashire—the one hundredth British Open championship—would be $11,787, compared with $11,150 this year. The top seven prizes are being increased by $536 and the next 10 by $642. There are lesser increased figures further down the list.
