Supreme Court DAMAGES CLAIM

Judgment for defendant After a retirement of 25 minutes a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon found for the defendant in a claim for damages. William Samuel Graham, a retired farmer, claimed general damages of $4OOO and special damages of $2210 from Paul Clifford Fraser, a company representative, for injuries suffered when the cycle Mr Graham was riding was struck by a car driven by Mr Fraser at the comer of Memorial Avenue and Clyde and Fendalton roads in June, 1968. Mr Fraser denied liability. Mr Justice Macarthur entered judgment for Mr Fraser, who was represented by Mr C. B. Atkinson. Mr R. F. B. Perry appeared for Mr Graham. Arthur Derek Gant, said that he saw Mr Graham cycle through the intersection with his head down against a red light.
