Pentagon may want more
(N.Z. P. A. -Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, Nov. 18. The United States Defence Secretary (Mr Melvin Laird) strongly hinted yesterday that the Pentagon would ask for big budget increases next year to offset military gains by the Soviet Union. He also warned that the United States would have to develop new deterrent systems if Russia continued to add to its arsenal of powerful weapons.
