WELLINGTON, Oct. 27. “There is some evidence that pressure on the building industry is likely to increase,” the Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon) told Parliament tonight. “As a precautionary measure, it is proposed to extend the existing building programme on a national basis and to increase the maximum period of deferment from two years to three years. Restraint will be exercised where necessary over a wider area of classes of construction than under current policy.
