(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON. New Zealand will meet teams from 36 countries in the Eisenhower Cup <— the world amateur golfing championship—in Madrid starting on Wednesday. The competing countries are Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain and Ireland, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Papua-New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, and Colombia.
Cricket Umpires. Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Umpires’ Association: president, Mr T. F. Mathie; Immediate past president, Mr W. R. Hobbs; vicepresident, Mr R. G. Aitken; honorary secretary, Mr D. J. Lee; honorary treasurer, Mr F. Fielding; honorary auditor, Mr H. Johnston; coaching committee and grading committee, Messrs L. C. Johnston (convener), F. R. Goodall, P. W. C. Prosser, L. C. Moore, W. R. Hobbs; appointments committee, Messrs R. W. Conway (convener), B. Dennison, J. Streeter; delegate to Canterbury Cricket Association, Mr W. R. Hobbs.
