One dead, six hurt
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 20. A young man was killed and six people were injured when two cars collided on Great South Road, at Westfield, about 8.30 p.m. yesterday. The dead man was Moses Toms, aged 24, carpen- ’ ter, single, of Otahuhu. ! Two of the injured were! still in Middlemore Hospital: tonight. Both are in a satisfactory condition. FATAL CRASH One man was killed and two people were seriously in-; jured when two cars collided on the North-Western Motor-i way late last night. The dead man was Ronald McKinnon, aged 42, of Whenuapai Air Force Base. DRIVER KILLED A Dunedin report said a 60-year-old driver was killed yesterday morning when the light truck he was driving on State Highway 1, 20 miles south of Dunedin left the i road. He was Raymond Bernard Joseph Johnson, of Bradshaw Street, Dunedin.
Minister back.—The Minister of Maori Affairs (Mr MacIntyre) arrived at Auckland by air on Saturday from a tour of the South Pacific.— (P.A.).
