Aust. Minister to retire
(N.Z. Press Association) CANBERRA, September 20. Australia’s deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry (Mr John McEwen) at the week-end confirmed his intention to retire from politics early next year. For the first time, he spoke publicly of a by-election in Indi, the Victorian seat he has held for the Country Party since 1937.
