Building Price Increase (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Sept. 4. The building industry would automatically advance the full 4 per cent wage bill imposed by the Payroll Tax into its prices, the chairman of directors of Street Construction, Ltd, Mr C. A. Staples, said in Hamilton today.

“Nobody—but nobody—has the intention of absorbing the tax, and those who can pass it on immediately will do so,” *he told the annual meeting of the company’s shareholders.
