Novices' mini tour One of the most talented fields of novice cyclists to assemble for a race in New Zealand will leave the Yaldhurst Hall on Sunday for the first stage of the Watties ’Mini Tour. The four-stage race, which covers some 59 miles, including one time trial stage of three and a half miles, has attracted riders from Levin, Nelson, Blenheim, Dunedin and Southland. Top prospects include the Mairehau riders, P. Jesson and P. Radburnd, who are the South Island 15-mile ehampion and runner-up respectively, J. Thurlow (Southland), who is the New Zealand boys’ one-mile track champion, R. Illes (Nelson), who took fastest time in the Buller 50 kilometres, and Levin’s T. Watson and' R. Hooper, who are both leading riders in the West Coast-North Island area.
