September 1, 1970. 7760 HIGH PRUNING CONTRACT BALMORAL FOREST WRITTEN tenders closing at noon on Friday, September 11, 1970, with the Conservator of Forests, P.O. Box 513, Christchurch, are invited for High Pruning Radiata Pine at Balmoral Forest. The operation comprises pruning from six to eighteen feet of all marked trees within an area of approximately 100 acres; it is estimated that about 130 trees per acre will require pruning. Ladders, saws, and jacksaws will be provided by the Forest Service, and upon completion of the operation the Forest Service will tally for payment the number of trees satisfactorily pruned. Prospective tenderers should contact the Officer in Charge at Balmoral Forest to arrange inspection of the area prior to submitting tenders, which should be on the basis of a price per tree in cents. Work to commence within 7 days of acceptance of tender and to be completed by October 31, 1970.
