COST OF BOTTLES

No Effect On Beer Price (N.Z. Preus Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 3. New Zealand Breweries was unlikely to raise beer prices despite an impending bottle price rise of about 10 per cent the company’s commercial manager in Auckland (Mr E. McMullen) said today. The price of bottles will go up about 10 per cent if an interim increase announced this week to Auckland firms is approved by the Price Tribunal. Mr McMullen said that if the increase was “reasonable” he doubted whether it would be passed on.
