fN.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 3. A tougher line on pollution might be taken soon by the Pollution Advisory Council, the deputy chairman of the council (Mr W. B. Spooner) said today. Addressing the annual conference of the Auckland branch of the Dairy Factory Managers’ Association, he said the council had been criticised for the small number of prosecutions for pollution. “Our objective has been education and persuasion, tnd not a collection of scalps to nail on the wall. Perhaps, however, the council has been wrong. "The present climate of public opinion may force more prosecutions,” he said.
