For appointment Ring 515-703, 64-454. 4623 CHEVIOT COUNTY COUNCIL CLOSURE OF ROADS TO ORDINARY VEHICULAR TRAFFIC PURSUANT to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations, 1965, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of allowing the Canterbury Car Club to conduct a motor rally to be known as the Shell Silver Fern Rally over some roads in the County of Cheviot, the following roads will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic for the periods indicated hereunder:—

During the periods of closure the. following provisions will be made for ordinary vehiclar traffic which would otherwise use the roads: Every road junction and access way will be manned by officials of the Club, and, in emergencies only, the nearest Marshall will arrange for the Rally to be stopped. Roads to be closed, and times of closure, are as follows: Blythe Road, from the junction of Stonyhurst Road through to the County boundary near the Blythe River, this road to be closed from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 1970. Port Robinson Road, from the Hurunui Mouth Road to the start of the sealed portion of the Gore Bay Road by the Gore Bay Beach, to be closed between 1.30 a.m. and 4.30 a.m., on Friday, September 11, 1970. Munro Road from the railway crossing west of Campbell Road tp Leamington Road; Leamington Road, from Eggleston Road to Munro Road; Eggleston Road, from Leamington Road to Kaiwara Road; Kaiwara Road, from Eggleston Road to the junction of Ethelton and Cat Hill Road; these roads to be closed from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., on Friday, September 11, 1970. Alternative provisions for ordinary vehiclar traffic: Ordinary vehicular traffic may avoid the closed roads by using various other connecting roads: In emergencies see paragraph above re manning of junctions and access ways. It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authorised permit to use the roads for ordinary vehicular traffic during the periods of closure. V. 1 B.
