VACANCY FARM EMPLOYEES STOCK AND CROPPING MANAGER APPLICATIONS IN writing together with recent references are invited from experienced men for the position of stock and cropping manager for “Tainui Fann,” situated five miles from Takapau and 10 miles Waipukurau, close to the Main Highway. The position is open immediately. The farm consists of 500 acres flat country with a highly intensive diversified fanning programme. Present planning calls for wintering next year of 450 steers, 800 ewes and 200 hoggets. Intensive cash cropping is carried out with a total of 260 acres being cropped this season, the crops including wheat, peas, clover, rye grass and lucerne. A modem type irrigation scheme (wheel shift) has been planned and ordered for the forthcoming season, and modern equipment is operated. The company has its own comprehensive workshop. A three-bedroomed house is available one mile from the farm with primary school bus at gate and secondary bus one mile away. Applicants would need to show that they can accept responsibility and show initiative, and assist with planning of future diversifiication. A good mechanical background would be of an advantage.
