SYSTEM FOR U.S.

An unusual visitor to Britain caused a stir on main roads near London recently: it was a genuine American police car.

The car was a Plymouth Fury of the Michigan State Police, which had been sent to Britain to be equipped with G.K.N. “FF” fourwheel drive, the same as fitted to Jensen FF models. The converted 360 b.h.p. Fury will be fully tested in the United States by the Michigan police, and this could lead to the Ferguson four - wheel - drive system being adopted for all cars by the police department there.

The FF system is already being tested by British police forces in several four-wheel-drive Ford Zodiacs.
