There are ' now indications that the strike ! could spread to other clothing factories throughout the Wei- 1 lingon-Taranaki region. , It was revealed tonight that ; the Clothing Workers’ Union j had asked employers for a 33 , per cent increase in wages. The union’s secretary, Mr A. J A. McDonald, commented to- , night on the offer to the ; striking workers. “The in- j crease in just chicken-feed. Girls who have just started 1 work at the factory would i only get a percentage of the 1 52.50.” 1
