Loxton New Selector

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The former Australian test all-rounder, S. Loxton, was yesterday appointed to join Sir Donald Bradman and R. N. Harvey as national selectors for the coming M.C.C. tour. Loxton, from Victoria, was elected by the cricket board of control ahead of the Queenslander, K. Mackay. He replaces the retiring member of the selection panel, Mr J. Ryder. Loxton’s election ended speculation that the present test captain, W. M. Lawry, also of Victoria, would be nominated for the position.
