MURDER OF GIRLS

(N.Z. Press Association)

SYDNEY, Sept. 2. Detectives investigating the kidnap murders of two girls in Townsville believe it may be linked with three unsolved crimes against children in New South Wales. They are studying the similarity between the killings in the two states.

The sisters, Judity, aged seven, and Susan Mackay, aged five, were found in bushland outside Townsville in North Queensland last Friday. It is believed they were picked up by a grubby man in an old car. Three and a half-year-old Simon Brooks was similarly mutilated and strangled near his home at Glebe, an inner Svdney suburb, on May 19, 19«8 Police have described the murder as the work of a demented sexual pervert
