EDUCATION SPENDING

Petitions For Increase (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. Parliament today continued to be bombarded with petitions seeking increased expenditure on education. The petitions started to arrive in the House last Tuesday, with a further 11 today. They now total 23, and contain more than 9000 signatures.

Among those presented has been at least one by a headmaster. Even the Undersecretary of Education (Mr Gair), has been asked by his North Shore constituents .to present one.
