UNITED KEEPS SAME TEAM
Christchurch United will field the team that toppled the top club. Eastern Suburbs, for its final Rothmans National Soccer League fixture of the season, against Mount Wellington under floodlights at English Park on Saturday.
The match is a vital one to both clubs, as it will decide the third placing in the competition, and the third prize of SlOOO.
United at present holds the position, by one point, and would need only to draw on Saturday night to stay there. As expected, the Christchurch coach (Mr G. Evans) has retained the players who produced a magnificent effort to beat Eastern Suburbs in Auckland. The team is:'
> W. Weir; G. Davis, K. . France, G. Griffiths, P. Frost; T. Haydon, V. Pollard; D. ’ Finnie, R. Taylor, G. ! Dacombe, F. Madrussan. Reserves: D. Phillips, A. West-
wood, A Watson. Of the 11 named in the actual team, only two—Haydon and Madrussan—have played in every United competitive match this season. Pollard and Griffiths each missed one, the Sunday game against Stop Out, and Frost has been out of the side twice.
