Whiter Paste With Plastic

Keeping your teeth white Is one thing; keeping the toothpaste itself white is another and polythene has played its part in winning this battle, according to Mr Barry Brennan, factory manager in Auckland for a toothpaste manufacturer. He says that in the past all New Zealand tooth-

pastes were marketed in aluminium tubes With the threaded nozzle also of aluminium. “The disadvantage is that toothpaste is slightly abrasive and, when the cap is screwed and unscrewed you get a greyish film around the nozzle. “We decided to follow the

overseas trend and switch to polythene nozzles—made by Plastics Products, Ltd, of Hamilton—and that has solved the problem." Mr Brennan said that quite apart from solving the grimy paste problem they obtained a better seal and a cork wad in the cap was no longer needed.
