Parliament’s Diary
Ten petitions on education, three of them relating to specific schools, were tabled when Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon. Advice was received that five local bills, including the Nelson Harbour Board Empowering Bill, had received the Royal assent. Ministers answered. 16 questions. The Social Security Amendment Bill (No. 2), an Opposition measure, was read a first time. The Mining Amendment Bill and the Rating Amendment Bill were returned by the relevant committees and are ready to proceed.
