LEVY ON WOOL

Resistance To Increase (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON August 25. The electoral committee of the Wool Board decided today to support the views expressed by Federated Farmers and to resist any increase in the wool levy to farmers. Most of the two-hour discussion on the wool levy was taken in committee.

The Wool Board reported that the shortfall tn its accounts for 1970-71 should not exceed 82m. It said it had decided to make a new approach to the Government for an extension of its grant in the 1971-72 year because there were new areas of expenditure in the International Wool Secretariat which the board believed should come within the range of the Government’s original grant
