Bank Sponsors Car Race

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The 1970-71 New Zealand saloon car motor-racing championship will be sponsored by the Bank of New South Wales, said Mr A. J. Smithard, chief executive of the Motor Sport Association, yesterday. This was the first time a New Zealand national motorracing series had achieved outside sponsorship, he said.

“The series will be renamed the Bank of New South Wales championship and will be contested over 11 events in the North and South Islands, beginning at Bay Park Raceway, Mount Maunganui, on Septembei 20,” said Mr Smithard. .
