Car Crash At Station

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 25. A car ran out of control across No. 9 platform at Wellington Station last night and crashed on to the railway lines, ending up wedged firmly between the platform and one of the carriages of the Limited Express to Auckland.

The train’s departure was delayed about 10 minutes while a breakdown truck dragged, the car clear. The driver of the car, Mr 1. laesta, of Porirua East, suffered a laceration over the right eye and shock. Cars are normally parked on the eastern side of the platform, which is accessible from Waterloo Quay. Police were unable to say what caused the accident.
