Parliament’s Diary
Twelve petitions were presented to Parliament yesterday afternoon. Nine were related to improved financial arrangements for education, and three called for changes in the Indecent Publications Act.
The annual reports of the Clutha, Geraldine, Masterton and Oamaru Licensing Trusts, and the annual report on Niue and the Tokelaus were tabled. Four, members gave notices of motion. Ministers answered 20 questions. The Roman Catholic Bishops Empowering Amendment Bill was introduced and read a first time. The introductory debate on the Social Security Amendment (No. 2) Bill was again interrupted by the dinner adjournment.
