Injunction Over Road?

The Christchurch Metropolitan Ratepayers’ Association is planning to seek an injunction against the Minister of Lands (Mr MacIntyre) to prevent the City Council from building the proposed road through Hagley Park. The association’s annual meeting last evening was told by the chairman (Mr A. A. Mackintosh) that “substantial funds” had been offered to pay for the expense of the injunction action, if the Minister gave permission to the council to go ahead.

Initial preparations had already been made for the action, he said. (Report: Page 14.)
