Plea For Lepers An appeal for help for the lepers in hospital at Apia, Western Samoa, has been received by the Lepers’ Trust Board from Miss M. Haliburton, a V.SA. worker from New Zealand who is introducing occupational therapy there. Her main difficulty is the general attitude of the patients, Miss Haliburton says in a letter to the secretary of the board (Mr D. Douglas). Because they are sick, they rely on their families to provide them with everything they want; but Miss Haliburton wants to encourage the women patients among them to make patchwork quilts, and has asked for scraps of material from clothing factories.
