RAROTONGA HOTEL
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, August 24. A syndicate of Invercargill businessmen is to build a hotel in the Cook Islands, at a cost of possibly more than $2 million. The Cook Islands’ Tourist Authority has granted permission for the syndicate to : build a 100-bed hotel to international standard on an eight-acre site at Whitesand Beach, on Rarotonga. The Secretary of the syndicate (Mr L. K. Sutherland) said tonight that the hotel might be financed by a public share issue.
