INVERCARGILL, August 21. Good super crutchings in the first wool sale of the 1970-71 season in Invercargill today sold at firm rates, but . the market was 21 per cent easier for average and otherstyle crutchings, the official report said.
“The market was inclined in buyers’ favour for fleece types, 48/50’s and finer,” said the report “It remained unchanged for other fleece wool and skirtings, and inclined in sellers’ favour for second-shear wool. The market remained firm for all other oddments.”

The offering, totalling 14,638 bales, was made up of crutchings, ewe and hogget fleece, and oddments. It included 1591 bales on account of the New Zealand Wool Commission—mainly fleece wool.
