Box 337, Christchurch, at 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 1970, are invited for the construction of Railway Bridge (No. 119 MNL) over the Ure River, approximately 44 miles north of Kaikoura. The bridge will consist of 20 No. 25ft precast reinforced concrete spans on piled reinforced concrete piers. 52 No. 21in square prestressed piles of maximum length 55ft are involved, placed and driven in the pre-excavated and lined holes. Spans and piles are stacked on site. Plans and specifications are obtainable from District Engineer, Room 201, Christchurch Station.
