SOBERS LED THE WAY
The return to full form by the West Indies captain, G. S. Sobers, was one of the most satisfactory features of the test series between England and The Rest of the World, which has just ended. Sobers, apparently overworked and jaded in the last two or three years, came back into his own in these matches, scoring most runs at the highest average, taking most wickets and being second to E. J. Barlow, of South Africa, in the number of catches held in the field.
The principal performances in the series are listed below:—
FIELDING D. L. Murray made 15 wicketkeeping catches, F. M. Engineer eight catches and a stumping, to give 24 wicket-keeping dismissals by the Rest of the World. Knott held 13 catches for England. Most catches in the field were taken by Barlow (9) and Sobers <«)-
