GAY DOCTOR LOOKS READY TO SHOW FORM

"The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Waihau Lass and Gay Doctor ran the best gallops at Foxton yesterday morning in preparation for the Foxton Racing Club’s meeting tomorrow. Gay Doctor will probably run in the open sprint rather than the distance race.

The visitors looked fit enough although none of them was asked any serious tasks. The work was all performed wide out on the course proper. The ground cut out slightly hut if there is no rain before tomorrow the going should be no worse than easy.

Waihou Lass was quickly Into stride and reeled off five furlongs in Imin 4 2-ssec, the last three in 38 2-ssec. This was a particularly good effort

and she must appeal for the Barber Hack Handicap. cniHhemerc all had a Carterton low expectations. Gay Doctor yesterday dashed over three furlongs in 37sec. He had last use of the track, which made his effort even better. He has done well since arriving at Foxton. He failed last week but may do better this week. No rider has been engaged for him. E J. Didharn was Coming north

but has now changed his plans. Grippie ran seven furlongs in Imin 36sec, the last five with his stablemate, Indra They took 40 for the last three, with Indra just in front and working well. The Washdyke maiden, Jenbar, ran three furlongs in 38 secs and is another likely to show improvement. Fred worked from the top of the straight and ran round to sprint three furlongs in 38 sec. He did it very well and should test the hack stayers. Sherlocks worked about a mile and picked up Magic Air at the five. Magic Air drew out in the straight to record Imin 7 4-ssec, the last three in 38 4-ssec and the grey could have gone much faster. Carioca completed an easy five furlongs and took 41sec for the last three in preparation for the Bergin Hack Han dicap.
