Turner, the New Zealand test opener, equalled a Worcestershire record of nine centuries in a season when he reached 100 in four hours and a half against Yorkshire in the English county cricket championship yesterday. The record was set by C. F. Walters in 1933. Turner has now scored eight of his centuries since June 30. His latest took him four hours and a half, and he went on to make 140.
