(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, Aug. 16. Married women were expected to comprise 20 per cent of an Australian workforce of 7.2 million in 10 years, provided net migration continued at 1 per cent of the total population each year, the Australian Federal Treasury announced. “The proportion is expected to reach 18.5 per cent (of a total 5.1 million workers) by the end of this year, and to grow to 21.1 per cent in 1981” the treasury said, in issuing a projection of the workforce up to 1981. Assuming net . migration continued at the projected rate, Australia’s labour-force was expected to grow at 2.66 per cent a year to 1981; compared with a projected annual growth-rate of 2.73 per cent in Canada, 2.02 per cent in New Zealand and 1.74 per cent in the United States.
